Middleham

Middleham has extensive grass gallops on both the Low and High Moors which are situated a short ride away above the village of Middleham. Also there are 7 furlong and one and a half mile long all-weather gallops.

Swimming can be very important to horses recovering from injury, as it enables the trainer to keep a horse reasonably fit without aggravating an injury. Most horses take naturally to swimming and don't seem to mind the fact that they are merely swimming round in circles. The equine swimming pool is situated in the Kingsley House yard and many visitors are intrigued to see horses using this facility.
