producing and breeding National Hunt Stock.
Joss grew up mainly in Southern Ireland hunting and competing on ponies. On leaving school he joined the all conquering yard of Willie Mullins working and riding for several years. After that he had a short stint in the UK riding in Point To Points with his Father at Gisburn before leaving for the USA where he gained valuable experience producing yearlings for the sales, pre training Flat horses and riding over jumps when time allowed.
After spending four years as Assistant Trainer to Sue Smith at Bingley, Joss felt it was the right time to go it alone. Over the last 2 years Joss has built and established himself at the Gisburn Yard and successfully trained winners from a small selection of young or difficult horses who had previously lost form. |
