 James took over the lease of Pegasus Stables in December 1988. He went on to purchase it in 1993. In his first season as a trainer in 1990 he was lucky enough to have such good horses as, RADWELL, ENVIRONMENT FRIEND , STYLISH SENOR, LA GRANGE MUSIC, UNBLEST, BISHOP OF CASHEL, WANDERING STAR, INVERMARK, WARNINGFORD, and ICICLE. |
 James and his wife Jacko and their four-year-old son Tom try to make having a horse at Pegasus fun. They like to think anyone involved with Pegasus is very much part of any winner that comes from the yard. Everyone is made very welcome to come and visit whenever they wish, regardless of how much or how many horses they might own. |
